Vice President for Visitor Services

The Prospect Park Alliance is currently seeking a Vice President for Visitor Services to manage a dynamic team serving the Prospect Park customer through recreational, rental, concessions, and merchandise sales. Working closely with senior staff, Board members, and field supervisors, this position manages and seeks new growth opportunities in a seasonally changing environment.
Primary duties include overseeing the staff at facilities throughout the Park including the Parade Ground, Carousel, Rink, Pedal Boats, Visitor Center at the Boathouse, and Tennis Center to offer quality services, products, concessions, and customer service in conjunction with Park programs and services. This position will also play a lead role in the planning, design and operations of Lakeside Center proposed to open in 2010. This new building and skating rinks will contribute significantly to the service provided to the community. The VP for Visitor Services manages all aspects of departmental budget and fiscal management and guides the future planning for new revenue producing opportunities.
The Prospect Park Alliance, working in partnership with City of New York and the community, restores, develops, and operates Prospect Park for the enjoyment of all by caring for the natural environment, preserving historic design, and serving the public through facilities and programs. Prospect Park is Brooklyn’s 585-acre historic flagship park, designed by the famed Olmsted and Vaux. It is the home of Brooklyn’s only lake and forest, with nature trails, numerous recreational activities, public and school-based educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and the first urban Audubon Center.
Qualifications: B.A./B.S. required. Masters Degree in Business or Non Profit Management preferred. Seven to ten years experience in hospitality, retail/sales and or business management required.
