Bilingual (English/Spanish) Grievance Representatives/Paralegals

SEIU Local 32BJ’s Contract and Grievance Center is looking for two individuals to handle grievance matters, advocate for members during the grievance process, and conduct hearings with employers. These individuals will be responsible for varied grievance investigation duties including administrative and computer tracking in connection with the processing of grievances. Applicants should possess advocacy and negotiation skills and have a strong interest in being part of a labor organization. Interested candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and should be detail-oriented, possess strong written and verbal skills, and be comfortable using a computer. Recent college graduates or persons with equivalent experience in a union are encouraged to apply. Women and people of color are also strongly encouraged to apply. Two positions are currently available: (1) in Manhattan (with responsibilities in the Bronx and other boroughs and Long Island); and (2) Newark, NJ.
