TANENBAUM CENTER FOR INTERRELIGIOUS UNDERSTANDING



Tanenbaum is the leader in providing the practical programs so urgently needed to prevent the growing problem of verbal and physical conflict perpetrated in the name of religion. We are a non-sectarian organization that addresses unresolved tensions by changing behaviors in religiously-diverse workplaces, schools and in areas of armed conflict.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



The Administration and Operations Interns will report to the Chief of Staff and the Managing Director of Operations, and will work with both of them as well as the Office Manager c. 20 hours weekly, with the following responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support for Tanenbaum (filing, faxing, copying, phones, messenger, supplies etc.)

• Provide administrative support for the Executive Vice President (appointment schedule, telephone calls, e-mails, correspondence)

• Provide administrative support for the Managing Director of Operations (research; vendor relations; donation confirmations; assist with facility management and human resources)

• Maintain database, generate reports and mail merges.

• Provide support for computer users in word processing and data entry.

• Design brochures, newsletters, mailings, templates

• Prepare general correspondence.

• Conduct research for organization’s various divisions, as needed.

• Such other responsibilities as may be assigned.

• All work produced for Tanenbaum by the intern is the work product of Tanenbaum and may not be used by the intern outside of Tanenbaum-authorized activities.



QUALIFICATIONS



• Commitment to the mission and goals of Tanenbaum.

• Expertise in computers, database and design including Windows, MS Word and Excel. Adobe PhotoShop and Quark a plus.

• Strong analytic skills.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Organized and adept at managing multiple concurrent activities.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

• Team player.

• Flexible.

• Creative.

• Sense of humor.
