OVERVIEW:


I am a 2006 college graduate with a degree in journalism and five years of administrative experience of increasing levels of responsibility. I have a strong liberal arts background in addition to my journalism studies. I have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to be pro-active and respond to challenges with innovation and energy. I am seeking a high-level administrative position in a creative environment where I can apply my skills and learn from creative professionals.





WORK EXPERIENCE:





Office Manager/Assistant to Director, Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy, New York, NY. September 2006 to July 2007. Responsiblities included managing caseloads of 16 psychologists, heavy scheduling, payroll accounting, answering high-volume phones, responding to messages, bookkeeping and managing staff.





Receptionist/Administrative Assistant, Mountain, Baird & Mountain, Attorneys at Law, Tuscaloosa, AL. February 2005 to July 2006. Responsiblities included answering busy phones, creating and maintaining client files and expense accounts, training new office employees, light bookkeeping, drafting correspondence and other ad hoc projects.





Intern/Staff Writer, The Planet Weekly, Tuscaloosa, AL. March 2004 to December 2004. Created own entertainment column, wrote other feature stories as assigned, including interviews with local and regional celebrities. Frequently assigned the cover story.





Public Relations Writer/Gallery Associate, Sarah Moody Gallery of Art, Tuscaloosa, AL. August 2004 to May 2005. Responsibilities included writing press releases for exhibition openings, general office duties, assisting with installation and presentation of artwork.
