We are a fast growing creative e-commerce company with a proven six-year track record. We have been constantly expanding for the last five years. We are based in Long Island City, Queens, half a block from the F-train station and within walking distance to many subway lines. Travel time from Times Square is 8 minutes by subway.

We are offering a paid internship as bookseller to an exceptionally bright, energetic, reliable, and devoted candidate.

You will be responsible for clearly defined projects, which are on the creative edge of bookselling. You will work on your own and report directly to the owner of the company. This exceptional opportunity will enable you to become an expert at setting up, managing, and promoting an independent bookstore.

The events you will organize should be creative, unusual, and provocative and won’t be limited by the mass appeal of mainstream chain stores. Ideally, you are a writer yourself or are otherwise connected to the literary, intellectual, and artistic community of the city.



Tasks will include:

1. Organization and decoration of a 4000 square foot independent bookstore

2. Inventory management

3. Interfacing with customers

4. Organization of author appearances, reading groups, meet-ins, and other events for the community

5. Promotion of these events in the local and regional media



Time requirement: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10am-6pm



Compensation: $500/month plus bonus after one year.
