These projects will be using the latest technology products : AIX 5.3L, Solaris 10, Sybase 12.5 and require a DBA with these advanced skill sets to build and support these projects.

Install and maintain sybase 12.5.x and later versions software.

Perform VTM vulnerbility and patch upgrades.

Configure, implement and maintain Sybase dataserver ASE

Establish no-data-loss Database Replication using Sybase Replication for COB sites.

Research and resolve Sybase software and database problems.

Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes.

Install, configure and maintain BMC Patrol for Sybase.

Install, and configure SQLBackTrac for Sybase.

Establish database security procedures.

Monitor and tune performance .

SQL tuning skills

Perfrom quarterly RCSA compliance testing of Databases.

Monitor database systems using Patrol monitoring software.

Schedule all backup jobs on the Job Scheduler.

Evidence collection in support of audit deliverables.

Work with the business to resolve database issues.

Support/Configure High availability systems as required.

Support systems using EMC SRDFSupport systems using EMC SRDF.

Technical Requirements

Must have Sybase 3+ expertise

Must have Sybase Advanced Replication experience

Must have at least 3 years building/supporting Sybase databases

Must have a strong problem research and resolution skills

Must have performance monitoring and tuning background

Must have worked in a large, complex OLTP Database environment

Must have strong UNIX background

Strong background in BMC Patrol is desirable
