Title: Programmer Analyst
General Description:
EtherMetrics is a well-funded, energy sector startup looking for a highly motivated and organized programmer to start immediately. We require expert level experience in .NET (VB/C#) and casual MS SQL experience. Responsibilities include development, testing, and documentation of an MS SQL database driven IIS web application. Experience in the energy sector (specifically EDI and SCADA/building automation systems), Java, and C are a plus. Candidates should be familiar with agile development practices and have excellent written and oral communication skills for weekly meetings and status reports. From time to time candidates will be taken off of their main project to research new technology, to assist clients with running data through the system, and to write reports explaining to non-technical clients how the system is performing for them.
Experience preferred:
The key requirement is expertise in .Net (VB/C#) development and at least casual experience with SQL. Java (GWT) and C (Digi embedded dev) may also be utilized from time to time.
Strong organizational, time-management and communication skills, software engineering experience and prior embedded development experience are preferred.
We would like to find an applicant with a history of projects in the energy industry. Software engineering or programming experience with SCADA, building automation systems, energy management, energy engineering and demand-side reduction will all improve your candidacy.
Experience with neural networks, machine learning, and embedded development would also add weight to our consideration.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS Computer Science or Mathematics
• >=2 years experience
• Strong organizational, time management and communication abilities
• Must have a portfolio of personal projects
