Savvy Diners and Writers needed for NYC Restaurant Reviews

New York City, NY • 08/31/2007

New York City based firm is recruiting for fine dining mystery shopping assignments in Manhattan. Reviews are done in a "reporter, fact-based style" and are sent to our clients. This is not just a food review—but a review of all the important aspects of the dining experience. We ask that you examine and report what you encounter from the time you arrive to the time you leave. This includes arrival/reception/seating, bar, table service, food, and other front-of-the-house aspects of the guest experience. Please note that these reviews are not published, but are confidential and used for our clients' internal purposes only.

We seek candidates who are sophisticated diners with excellent writing, communication and observation skills. Typically, meal and bar expenses for two people are reimbursed in accordance with our guidelines, in exchange for a detailed and comprehensive evaluation of the "guest dining experience." Added incentives of $50 to $75 apply for special assignments.

Access to the Internet, good computer skills, and Microsoft Word Software are required. Candidates will be screened based on the quality of their response to this posting.

We provide and require that candidates attend New Reviewer Training Classes in Manhattan, and are currently preparing candidates for a September class, date to be provided separately. These classes are free, and last about 2 hours.

Please respond as follows, to the email address listed in our ad.

Please email us a concise, two-paragraph business cover letter that demonstrates your strength as a candidate for this position. Include in your cover letter, information about your business writing skills and experience, observation skills, and any relevant experience in the restaurant industry as an employee or as a diner. Please remember that we seek a business writing style, and are screening based on your ability to write clearly and concisely.

Please, no resumes at this time.
