The New York American Marketing Association and the Effie Awards seek a person to administer our database and website functions. This position requires high comfort level with technology, but it is not a detailed technical job.



We are a growing, vibrant and collegial organization of 13 employees. Full descriptions of our programs can be found on our websites, www.nyama.org and www.effie.org. This is a four-day/week job with full benefits.



DATABASE MANAGEMENT DUTIES



• Software improvements: Identify needs. Work with vendors to meet needs. Applicant needs a clear understanding of databases and how they work on the back-end and the ability to communicate needs to database vendor. Does not need to know how to set up a database.



• Reporting: Handling and customizing information exported from databases. Need understanding of database terms, strong skills in Excel, experience in importing data and in data maintenance to ensure clean, accurate information, and an Ability to create reports and to add, combine or extract data as needed. Microsoft Access experience is not required but is a plus.



WEBSITE DUTIES



• Maintain content, images and file management for two websites using customized Client Management System and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Need basic html knowledge and Dreamweaver experience, along with an understanding of website structure and how sites work (i.e. file management, ftp, etc.) Previous experience in maintaining websites a must.



• Web Graphics: Handle file management of graphics and editing needs as they arise (resizing, adding elements to a graphic, etc.) Need knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)



• Create Email communications templates and design in alignment with the brand/brands.



• Create RFPs and work with consultants to create and launch site improvements. Additions of new forms and pages, as needed.



• Track and analyze site usage.





The current holder of this job spends about one-third of her time working with the databases, ensuring their accuracy, merging various combinations of lists for specific projects, analyzing data, and extracting data for mail merges. About one third of her time is spent working with our various vendors to meet new technical needs for our websites and our various custom programs. The remaining third is spent updating the websites, preparing files for posting on the internet, preparing and sending email promotions via the Exactarget program, keeping graphics files in order, and ensuring the consistency of our brands’ graphic identities.

• Can quickly comprehend projects and can work with minimal guidance.

• Has excellent verbal and writing skills.

• Places high value on producing quality work, on enjoying one’s work, and on contributing to a collegial work environment.

• Can manage complex multi-month projects and multiple duties.



A college degree is strongly preferred.
