Job Description Duties and Responsibilities of Position:



- Monitor Medical experience on a monthly basis.



- Manage underwriters in the evaluation and pricing of new business prospects using underwriting principles to produce competitive pricing and profitable financial results. Review/approve final proposals.



- Monitors, reviews and approves the renewals of all in force business utilizing creative and innovative underwriting actions that meets clients’ needs and achieves profitable financial results. Implement rating actions.



- Assists underwriters in evaluating benefit structure, product design and plan differentials for prospective new and in force clients. Suggest appropriate modifications.



- Trains underwriters on new underwriting techniques/methodologies/products.



- Reviews premium, claim, and benefit design for appropriateness.



- Makes presentation to clients on benefit design and actions.



- Reviews compliance and regulatory material for impact on benefit design and rates.



Requirements for Position:



- Technical knowledge of underwriting and actuarial formulas and rating methodologies for both Membership and Group business.



- Excellent communication and analytical skills. Ability to deal with outside clients as well as other functional areas.



- Over 10 years of group underwriting experience in all lines of business, preferably in association.
