Responsibilities:

The Senior Freelance Web Designer for NBCOlympics.com will be responsible for designing wire frames and final page/element designs for the 2008 NBCOlympics.com website. The designer should be familiar with trends in art design and design styles; new digital and e-business technology. This individual should have an affinity for sports and have experience with designing event driven websites.Candidate should have very solid design experience, combined with a well-developed online skill set (HTML knowledge, online image processing, Flash components, etc). The candidate should have excellent skills in Photoshop, Flash 8, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Fireworks and other related creative software. Candidate should also demonstrate strong organizational skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced editorial environment.



Qualifications

- 5 years experience in designing websites from start to finish. (Preferably sports or event driven sites)

- 5 years experience in digital design (advertising, marketing and branding), with a thorough working knowledge of the requirements and restrictions of digital media

- Understanding of fundamental design principles such as UI, color theory, layout, and typography

- Familiarity with common web standards and technologies

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited design or art school

- Strong Production experience preferred



Skills

·Advanced working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, Fireworks, InDesign, Flash, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

·High proficiency in HTML, DHTML, Javascript, Flash (including ActionScript) and CSS.

·Strong creative skills in typography, layout, composition and color theory.

·Strong knowledge of brand strategy, content planning and information architecture.

·Excellent understanding of web usability principles.

·Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and creativity

·High proficiency in table-less design and layout, using cross-platform CSS and pixel-level positioning.

·Knowledge of content organization and navigation.

·Problem-solver and self-starter who can take accountability and ownership of projects from start to finish

·Management of multiple projects and communicating with a diverse mix of geographically-dispersed (on- and off-shore) resources
