The Web Project Manager will lead all phases of Web initiatives and is responsible for their efficient and on-time delivery. Full life-cycle leadership is required. Responsibilities include customer relationship management, forging internal consensus, and implementation oversight and coordination. The PM works with magazine customers, editorial, design, technical and information architecture team members.

will be responsible for:
§ Managing day-to-day relationship with magazines during projects.
§ Collaborating with stake holders and project team members to establish and document project scope, business requirements and user functionality.
§ Working closely with technical teams on assessing feasibility of ideas, brainstorming alternate approaches, scheduling projects, and ensuring that project specifications are in line with available technical solutions.
§ Creating and communicating realistic project schedules based on the input of team members. Ensuring all team members are fully aware of their deliverables and due dates.
§ Managing interim milestones and overall project delivery dates, taking responsibility for on-time project completion.
§ Ensuring clear communication of project status to all key stakeholders.
§ Supporting development and QA teams during development and test phases; answering questions and providing more detail on specifications on an as-needed basis.
§ Working closely with Quality Assurance team, overseeing testing and prioritizing bug fixes.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing major projects for top tier, ad-supported, content-based Web sites. Additionally, this position requires the ability to be confident, diplomatic, proactive, organized, detail-oriented, responsible, and exhibit excellent verbal and written skills. This position also requires:
§ Applied knowledge and a solid understanding of and interest in the overall SDLC process and software development methodologies.
§ Demonstrable experience taking at least three large scale Web products from concept through specification to launch.
§ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
§ Superior analytical skills and deep understanding of requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation processes.
§ Experience working collaboratively with business, customers and technical teams.
§ Extensive experience working on tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
§ Proven ability to create simple processes to expedite work flow
§ Broad knowledge of Internet technologies, including content management tools, e-commerce engines, profiling and personalization systems, and community and customer service applications. Familiarity with Web standards and cross-platform, cross-browser issues.
§ Working knowledge of JSP, CSS-2, XML, XSL, HTML, XHTML, DHTML and Flash.
§ Excellent relationship building, communication, listening, writing and team skills.
§ Passionate curiosity about our business and technology.
§ Ability to be flexible and work in an ever-changing environment.
§ Working ability to use Microsoft Project.
§ BA/BS degree in a related field. Additional academic studies in project management a plus.
§ 3 – 5 years experience with proven success in Web site project management.
