These guys were terrific! They were on time (early even), very friendly and efficient and not only helped move the furniture, but helped make sure it was set up well. I would definitely use them again!
Excellent movers. The crew arrived right on time. They were very professional, fast, and courteous. I had multiple stops to make, and not only did they manage that efficiently, they let me ride in the van (I don't have a car)! I was very pleased with their service.
Paul and his guys were awesome! I called only a day in advance, and Paul was pleasant and easy to talk to on the phone, and shockingly accommodating. Our e-mail correspondence following the phone call, verifying the information, was effortless. The movers called before arriving at the pick-up location (they even arrived early) and were on their way to the drop-off within 15 minutes. With two walk-up buildings to deal with, and some tight corners and spaces, I was very impressed at the two men's moving skills. An AMAZING and convenient feature is their craigslist purchase offer- the company offers to pay for the item for you at pick-up (with advanced notice), so you don't have to be present! I had a small balance left on the couch, and they very conveniently just added it to my charge. I got to stay in my apartment waiting for the drop off the whole time. It was awesomely convenient for me. The men who dropped off the couch were pleasant, and very well mannered (even adjusting my slip cover to make it look perfect.) I asked for a receipt, and one informed me to e-mail Paul requesting one. I did, and received a receipt very promptly. Though the pricing was a tad more expensive than some other quotes I received, the company allowed for a stress free move, and I am very pleased with the entire experience.
Paul and his guys are outstanding. I moved a bed mattress box spring and frame from uws to brooklyn. They showed up on time, made the job fluid, easy and effortless. He honored his original price, too. And took the shortest, fastest route to the location. All this on the hottest day on record. And I was so nervous about reading about Russian movers on Craig's list who screw you with the price and can cause nightmarish outcomes. That's NOT Paul. He's a good hearted, professional and honorable young american man who works to please and his van is enoumrous and packs a lot of stuff. His guys had to walk up four flights of stairs to deliver the heavy bed materials. And they did it effortlessly and with smiles. Wonderful to work with. And good communication both by phone and email prior to the move. Paul is a winner!
When the movers I booked didn't show up, I called Gentleman with a Van at 9 pm. His crew was there by 9:30 pm! They had me moved within two hours. His crew was friendly, professional and hard workers. They didn't slack off to extend their hours. They seemed genuinely grateful to be tipped at the end of the night, a refreshing change from New Yorkers who expect tips for shoddy work. Gentleman with a Van will be my first call for any future moves!
I recommend this service. Initial communication was excellent. I had an expensive, very heavy bookshelf to move and though it was awkward it arrived undamaged. They even help me put the legs back on when it arrived and their attitude was friendly but professional. 5 stars.
I used Gentleman with a Van for a short haul to the Salvation Army and every thing went well. Althought there was a slight mixup about the pickup time - my fault for not confirming - Paul resolved the problem and was able to get a van and two helpers over to my apartment the same day.
The van comes outfitted with blankets that helped protect a table and other items on the trip across town. Kevin moved the stuff from my apartment into the van and from the van into the Salvation Army receiving station.
For me - no muss, no fuss - problems solved, move well done, on time, and couteous. Thanks for the help.
Very highly recommended for apartment moves. I have moved twice with them for small-size apartment moves, and it has always been great. An excellent value and stress-free experience.
