Great, reliable service! I called with a last-minute request for a move that same day, and despite the fact that they were working out of town that day, they drove all the way back into the city that evening and arrived not too late. The two guys moved several pieces of furniture (some of them heavy!) up to my 6th-floor walkup apartment, around narrow winding stairs. And they really worked very hard! They got it done in two hours, for a reasonable price.
They were professional the whole way, keeping me informed about their expected arrival times, and Paul, who coordinates it all, was always responsive and stayed within easy contact the entire time. I definitely recommend these guys and will use them again!
We had to move a very heavy desk from home to office. These guys were totally up to the job -- getting it out of our balcony room, over a sliding door transom and out our crowded apartment. They arrived fast at our office and moved the desk in quickly and neatly. We would definitely use them again!
I used these guys twice and both times they were AWESOME. Exactly what I needed reliable, punctual, friendly and cheap. I called around the city for quotes from other movers and these guys came in so much more reasonable. Also the quote was pretty easy understand since it was based on two guys and a flat hourly rate. You paid for the time they used not for the "estimate" of what they think they should charge.
Highly recommended! Gentleman with a Van was responsive, reasonably priced, inclusive of 2 friendly mover dudes, and most importantly, on-time! The fact that they offered to pay for the piece of furniture I bought off of craigslist (thereby saving me a trip to the UWS) and allow me to reimburse them upon delivery to my apartment was fantastic. Oh, and I was able to schedule everything the morning of the delivery! 5/5!
I recommend Gentleman With a Van without reservation. Paul responded quickly to my inquiry about price quotes and reserved times for my multi-day move soon thereafter. Andy and Ed were very prompt, professional, and quick. Plus, they were friendly and conversational to boot. And these moves were done at a really, really reasonable rate. So, in short, this move was about as painless as a move can be. I've never really been able to say that before.
